Foreign Law (Laws of Other Countries)

The website of the vice-presidency can be used for texts of legislation, leyes or decretos. Access through a system called SiLEP (Sistema de Información Legal del Estado Plurinacional).

The (República de Bolivia Ministerio de Información Gubernmental) maintains its own website but is also accessible directly on the website of the Agencia Boliviana de Información. By clicking on Documents oficiales one can reach Leyes or Decretos, a library that lists more than a thousand titles of laws providing full Spanish texts of legislation.

One can search for laws (leyes only, not decretos) and only for the last few years by the number of the law and session of congress, by key word (the latter search displays often more than one wants to see) and by category: Leyes promulgados, Leyes aprobadas, Proyectos de ley en tratamiento.

World Intellectual Property Organization - search national laws and treaties on intellectual property law.

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations - database of national laws and regulations on food, agriculture, and renewable natural resources.

International Labour Organization - database of national laws on labor, social security, and related human rights.

Operated jointly by FAO, IUCN and UNEP - database of national environmental laws.

Contains machine-produced English translations of the legislation of Bolivia. Machine-based translations should not be relied upon in important documents and writings.

The web page of the Supreme Tribunal has a search engine which allows sentences issued by this organ of justice to be found concerning civil, penal and social matters. The jurisprudence is systematized in what is called the “tree of jurisprudence”, useful tool which organizes the jurisprudence, by specific topics and subtopics.
