Cite Checking Resources

Introduction to cite checking for USD law students

Important Notes

Log in to LRC ILL account here

  • ILL process is not immediate – it can take up to 2 weeks or even longer due to Covid-19. Request items well before your deadline.
  • Copies often arrive more quickly than books. If you do not need an entire book, consider requesting a copy instead of a loan.
  • Use TWEN regularly to look for and post notices about sources that have been requested through ILL. Duplicate requests are costly for the LRC and lending libraries.

Items that the LRC will NOT request through ILL:

  • Loans from outside of North America
  • Most newspaper articles
  • Materials available in PDF of original source
  • Front matter (table of contents, title, copyright page) for journal articles available in PDF
  • Copies of book or journal spines
