Introduction

LGBTQ+ Pride Month is celebrated in June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising that served as a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. Pride Month serves to celebrate the presence and contributions of lesbian, gay, transgender, and queer individuals to history, culture, and society in general. The LGBTQ+ community has fought hard to secure individual rights and in doing so, secured greater equality for themselves and others. This guide contains resources discussing these victories in marriage equality and anti-discrimination laws among other contributions to legal history.

A street full of people. Down the middle, people are holding a long rainbow banner.
