During the fall and spring semesters, the reference desk is typically available for walk-up, email, phone, or chat questions during these hours:

Monday to Thursday
9am - 6pm
9am - 5pm
noon - 4pm

During finals, intersession, and summer sessions hours vary.

Like other areas of legal research, the basic tax research methodology is as follows:

1. Establish the facts.

2. Identify the issues.

3. Locate authority.

4. Evaluate authority.

5. Develop conclusions and recommendations.

6. Communicate research results and recommendations.
