The Federal Register includes federal regulatory notices about the education of individuals with disabilities. 

  • For pre-1994 IDEA regulations, be sure to use Westlaw or Lexis. The Federal Register website on GovInfo.com contains regulations from 1994-present.

State Laws, Regulations and Department of Education

The Lanterman Act (codified in the California Welfare and Institutions Code) is the California law that gives people with developmental disabilities the right to services and support. See the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) website for resources and information about the Lanterman Act.
